Sabrina Carpenter has reached a major milestone in her career with her latest release, Short N’ Sweet, officially debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. The 25-year-old pop sensation has secured her first-ever No. 1 album, capping off a successful summer.
On Tuesday, Billboard confirmed that Short N’ Sweet had topped the charts, marking Carpenter’s first No. 1 album. Her success continued on the Billboard Hot 100, where her latest single “Taste” debuted at No. 2, while her pre-release singles “Please Please Please” and “Espresso” held the No. 3 and No. 4 spots, respectively. Notably, all 12 tracks from the album landed on the Hot 100, with placements ranging from No. 2 to No. 41.
This achievement makes Carpenter one of the few women, alongside Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande, to chart at least three songs in the Top 5 simultaneously.
Short N’ Sweet had one of the year’s biggest debuts, moving 362,000 equivalent album units in its first week, according to Billboard. This impressive start ranks third for the year, trailing only Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department and Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter.
The album’s anticipation was high, especially with Carpenter teasing her fans by sharing a snippet of “Taste” on Instagram before its release. The song’s accompanying music video gained attention for its bold and campy visuals, where Carpenter and co-star Jenna Ortega engage in a dramatic, weapon-filled battle over a romantic interest.
Earlier this summer, Carpenter achieved her first No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with the viral hit “Please Please Please,” which serves as the second single from Short N’ Sweet. Her first single, “Espresso,” remained on the charts for 20 weeks, peaking at No. 2.
Carpenter is also slated to perform at the MTV VMAs on September 11, and her sold-out Short N’ Sweet Tour will kick off this fall. The tour will end in Los Angeles with shows at Crypto.com Arena and the Kia Forum in November.
